Mrs. Elizabeth Clara Thamann, one of Guttenberg's old and respected residents, passed away Tuesday afternoon at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Schute, with whom she resided a number of years. Death was caused from cancer of the breast, from which she has long been a sufferer. Her age at the time of death was 73 years and 3 days, having past her 73rd birthday last Saturday. On account of her ailment Mrs. Thamann became bedfast Dec. 9th, and since then had been unable to leave her room. Deceased was a member of St. Anna Society of St. Mary's congregation, and had been a devout and life-long adherent to the Catholic faith. Funeral services will be held this (Friday) morning at St. Mary's church at 9:30, conducted by Rev. Father Brikman. Interment will be made in the new Catholic cemetery.
