Mary May Waring was born in Buchanan Co., Iowa, September 27, 1885. Nearly all her life, however, has been in the vicinity of Strawberry Point. She was married to Thomas Alderson Feb. 22, 1905. One child came to bless this union. She departed this life Jan. 10, 1911, aged 25 years, 3 months and 13 days. Her father, to whom she was deeply attached, preceded her to the better land on Sept. 9th, 1906. She was received into the membership of the Congregational church July 11th, 1900. Mary was much beloved by a large circle of friends; indeed it is doubtful if any one in her large circle of acquaintances bore her the slightest enmity. She leaves many mourners. Her mother, five sisters and four brothers, her husband, and indeed all who knew her are mourners today. The funeral was held from the Congregational church on Friday at 1 o'clock, Rev. van Sweringen officiating. Burial took place in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
