Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 12 Jan. 1911. Luana column.
There was a very large attendance at the funeral of Mrs. Phil Gardener Saturday. Mrs. Gardener had been suffering for some time with a goiter, which caused her death on Jan. 5th. The sympathy of the neighborhood is with the husband and two sons who are left in the home alone, the five daughters having homes of their own.
