Michael Joseph Lane was born Dec. 5, 1902, in Castle Bloyney, Ireland, and died Dec. 20, 1910, at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque. Since a boy, two years old, he has been an inmate of the St. Mary's orphanage and here was stricken with appendicitis. He underwent an operation, but death relieved him of his sufferings. He leaves to mourn his untimely death, his father and mother, two sisters and two brothers. The funeral took place from the Frank Schoulte home at National, and his remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery.
