Elkader Register, Thur., 16 Sept. 1926.

Caroline Fredericka Mary Radloff, nee Mueller, passed away September 12th, at about midnight, at the home of her son, William Radloff of Farmersburg township. She had reached the age of 83 years, 10 months and 11 days. She was born November 1, 1842 in Blesewitz, near Ankam, Germany. On April 11, 1863 she was united in marriage with Charles Christian William Radloff, who preceded his wife in death 27 years ago, in 1899. She came to this country in 1873. To this union were born 11 children, five of whom preceded their mother in death. Those living are: Karl Radloff, Postville; Mrs. Mary Mueller, Farmersburg township; Mrs. Louise Bandow, Elkader; Mrs. Emma Harnack, Waterloo; Will Radloff, Farmersburg township; and Lois Radloff, Read township. She leaves to mourn, a son-in-law, Mr. Henry Lemke, of Read township, 34 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives, good friends and neighbors.

Rev. M. Peper of Farmersburg officiated at the house, and Rev. Wm. Wuestenberg at the Zion's Lutheran church at Clayton Center. Burial was made in the old cemetery of the Zion's Lutheran church at Clayton Center, Tuesday, September 14.

May these impressive words of the gifted poet be fulfilled on Mother Radloff:

"Be near when I am dying,
Oh! show Thy cross to me,
Lord, on thy help relying.
Come Thou and set me free;
These eyes new faith receiving
From Thee shall never move,
For he who dies believing,
Dies safely in Thy love."
