Monona, Ia., Sept. 18 - On Monday morning E.L. Rice received a message from David Collins of Waterloo, Iowa, stating that his brother, Monteville Collins, died Sunday in the Presbyterian hospital of that place. "Monte," as he was called in Monona, at his mother's death was left in charge of his three brothers and three sisters. He proved faithful to his trust.
Passing away at the age of fifty-eight years he is survived by but one brother. The funeral will be held in Monona Wednesday.

E. L. Rice received a telegram Monday morning announcing the death of Monteville E. Collins at the Presbyterian Hospital in Waterloo Sept. 16, 1917.
He was born in Giard Township Aug. 2, 1855, and was the fifth child of Eldrige G. and Mary Ann Collins. His two brothers and three sisters have preceded him to the Silent Halls of death. There remains but one brother, David C., of Waterloo, Iowa.
The funeral was held in the Monona M.E. church Tuesday morning. Rev. C. E. Baker having charge of the service. The church was prettily decorated in purple and white flowers. The burial occurred in the Monona cemetery.
Those in attendance from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hines, of Strawberry Point; Mr. and Mrs. Fields and son of Minn.; Mrs. Helen Campbell, of North McGregor.
