Elkader Register, Thur., 26 Aug. 1926. Strawberry Point column.

The death of Hiram Hines, aged 70, and a resident of this vicinity for many years, occurred at his home in Manchester last Thursday, after an illness of several weeks. Mr. Hines fell some time ago and received injuries from which he never fully recovered. His wife passed away several years ago and he is survived by one brother, Henry, of Edgewood. The funeral was held at the home in Manchester Friday afternoon and his remains were brought to Strawberry Point and interment took place in the family lot in the Cox Creek cemetery.
