John Bergan, 67, passed away at his home here Saturday evening at 10:30, following an illness of several months duration.

Mr. Bergan was born in Bankston, Iowa, on October 29, 1865. When a small child he moved with his parents to a farm in Highland township. After a period of a few years he moved to a farm near here which place he resided until fourteen years ago when he retired and with his sister have been residents here.

He is survived by one sister, Miss Lizzie; three brothers, James, Thos. and Michael all of this place, besides several nieces and nephews. One sister, Mrs. Mary Boland, one brother, Patrick, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart church here Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock when a mass of requiem was read by the local pastor, Rev. D. P. Cregan. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery here.

The casket was bourne by M. J. Conboy, Wm. Finley, Fred Orr, Jacob Kraus, E. C. Becker and Emmet Thyne.
