Elkader Register, Thur., 21 Feb. 1901. Strawberry Point column.

The death of the infant child of Herbert Allen and wife occurred last Sunday evening at about 10 o'clock. The little one was born Feb. 14 and just four days elapsed between the arrival of the bright little girl to gladden father, mother and grandparents, and the sudden visit of the death angel. Who can tell the joy brought by the little innocent. The parents hearts, now sad, only can feel w_rth of the life so soon ended, and none but He who notes the fall of "even the sparrow," can give full measure to the little life's attainments. May he temper the sorrow of the sad hearts, even as he blessed them in the gift he gave.

She has gone, our little pet,
To that happy home above,
Gone from us, but she's with Jesus--
She is happy in his love.
Oh, we miss you, sweet baby,
And it seems our hearts would break,
Yes, from pain we know she is free,
But its all for Jesus' sake.
