Elkader Register, Thur., 28 Mar. 1901. McGregor column.
Clayton, twin brother to Clifton, the little boys adopted by their aunt, Mrs. Ben Olson, when they were two weeks old, died Saturday of bowel trouble. The boys are favorites of everybody and Clayton's death comes as a shock to the entire community. They were born Sept. 6th, 1899, their mother dying at their birth, in Minneapolis. They have always seemed to enjoy fair health and Clayton's illness was of only forty-eight hours duration. A post mortem examination revealed a growth on the intestine which had caused a telescope. Rev. B. W. Burleigh officiated at the funeral Monday afternoon, and the little body taken to Clinton, Wis., for interment, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Olson and its grandfather, Mr. Childs.
