Elkader Register, Thur., 2 May 1901.

DIED- At her home in Luana, on Friday, April 26th, Julia Ernest, wife of A. Ernest, of heart disease, aged 51 years. Mrs. Ernest was the daughter and only remaining child of Wm. and Luana Scott, deceased. Her husband and two children, Mrs. B_______ and Lloyd, remain to mourn the loss of a good loving wife and mother. As a community we have lost a true friend, one we will greatly miss. Early in life she united with the M.E. church of Luana, and was faithful unto her vows till death. She was a faithful worker for her master, and foremost in all good work in the church and Sunday School, being assistant superintendent of the Sunday School when called home. We will miss her and her place will be hard to fill, we have this consolation left, our loss is her gain for she has gone home to be forever at rest. The funeral was held Monday, at the M.E. church, conducted by her pastor, Rev. ?. M. Green. The large church was full of sympathizing friends, who followed to the cemetery near town, where her remains are resting beside her father, mother, brothers and children.
