Elkader Register, Thur., 21 Feb. 1878.

DIED - At National, February 14th, 1878, Fremont C., son of Cornelius and Mary Morgan, aged 14 years, 7 months and 25 days.

Young Fremont had been a sufferer most of the winter, typhoid fever finally obtaining a hold, which made short work of the already weak and fragile form. His life had been one of more or less suffering caused by a hip disease which made him a cripple. The funeral occurred on Saturday the 16th, the Rev. Downs preaching an appropriate discourse. A large number of citizens and neighbors attended the funeral, witnessing the last sad rites paid to poor little Fremont.
