Died, Mrs. Grannis, mother of C.W. Grannis, and Mrs. J.M. Boardman, died at Strawberry Point, at the house of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Carley, on Sunday evening the 26th inst. Funeral services this morning at 10 o’clock at the residence of Mrs. Captain Boardman, of this place.

Nancy Grannis
The friends of Mrs. Nancy Grannis, deceased, regards it due to the kindhearted people of Strawberry Point to make some public recognition of their very great goodness manifested in tender attentions to their mother, whose death we briefly chronicled two weeks ago, during a tedious illness.
Mrs. Grannis was well known and beloved here, having been among the old settlers. If she had lived to January she would have completed her eighty-fifth year. She came to Elkader in company with Mr. and Mrs. Captain Boardman, Charles W. Grannis, and other of her children, twenty two years ago and has lived here most of the time since. For about six years past she has been with her oldest child, Mrs. Carley, at Strawberry Point, from whose house she was taken to her final reward. She was buried beside friends, in the Elkader cemetery, the funeral taking place at the Universalist Church, Rev. W.J. Hicks officiating
