Elkader Register, Thur., 31 Mar. 1921. McGregor column.
The funeral services of Mrs. A. C. Boyle were held at the home Saturday afternoon, Rev. A. E. Cutler officiating. A duet, "The Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," was sung by Mrs. Emma Benjamin and Frank C. Sloane. The floral gifts were of unusual number and beauty and many friends gathered to drop a tear for the loved one gone and to pay a last tribute to her who for nearly seventy years has lived in McGregor, and so lived that she was merited and received the highest esteem of the community. Mrs. Boyle's maiden name was Isabelle Reid. She was born in Dubuque, May 20th, 1850, and came to McGregor with her parents when a year old. She grew to young womanhood in this community and March 28, 1872, was married to Alonzo C. Boyle. Seven children were born, all of whom are living: Mrs. J. G. Corte, Plummer, Idaho; Homer, Council Bluffs; Alonzo Jr., Wapato, Washington; Tracy, St. Maries, Idaho; and Milton, John and Isabelle, of McGregor. Mr. Boyle's brother, Frank, and his sister, Mrs. Isabelle Bowen, made their home in the family home for many years. All of these were present at the funeral with the exception of the daughter and two sons who live in the west.
