Elkader Register, Thur., 6 Jan. 1921. Strawberry Point column.

R. C. Barnes received word last Friday evening from Lakeport, Cal., that his mother, Mrs. Emma Barnes, had passed away. The remains are expected here Wednesday morning and funeral services will be held in the afternoon at the Congregational church. Her husband preceded her in death Jan. 16, 1916, also one son, Frank, dying in infancy, and a daughter, Mrs. H. E. Newton, October 19, 1918. Those remaining are L. M. Barnes of Delhi, R. C. Barnes of this place, Mrs. J. R. Martin and John Barnes of Lakeport, Cal., Guy of Waterloo, also one brother, Ed. Moine, of this place, besides her other relatives and friends.
