Mr. Schroeder was born February 17, 1864, at Clayton, Iowa. On July 3, 1888, he was united in marriage to Jennie Skinner at Elkader, Iowa, where they made their home until 1908, coming to Montana and locating on a farm near Glendive.

In March, 1928, Mr. Schroeder suffered a stroke and another one July of 1931. Since that time he has been a semi-invalid and because of his failing health, he and Mrs. Schroeder have made their home for the past four years with Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Myers of this city.
