Phelps, Marilyn Elizabeth 1935 - 1935

PHELPS, HARBAUGH

Clayton County Register, Thur., 16 May 1935.

On May 2, 1935, an infant daughter came into this world and was tenderly welcomed into the home and hearts of its parents, Mr. Otto Phelps and his wife, Elsie Phelps, nee Harbaugh. They named the young child Marilyn Elizabeth. All the love and care that earthly parents can possibly give were showered upon her. But her life on earth seemed destined to be brief, for on May 9th she was taken seriously ill. The rite of Holy Baptism was administered, indicating that it was the parents' wish that she be consecrated to the Lord. In the early morning hours, at 3 a.m. on the 10th of May, the spirit of the young child departed this life and entered into the kindlier Kingdom of God, even as Jesus said, "Suffer the little children to come unto me, for to such belongeth the Kingdom of God."

In addition to the parents of the child, those who grieve this untimely death are the grandparents, Mrs. Stella Phelps and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Harbaugh, together with a host of other relatives and many friends.

The entire community extends its sympathy to the bereaved parents.
