Charles F. Kramer, 70, prominent McGregor citizen and retired business man, died in a Rochester, Minn., hospital Tuesday night. Mr. Kramer was in the drug business since a boy, working in the S. J. Peterson drug store, afterward buying the business. Later the firm was known as the Kramer-Cords Drug Co., as he took A. J. Cords into partnership. He was a vice-president of the State Bank of McGregor for many years and founder and president of the McGregor Wholesale Grocery Co. for a number of years. For the past few years he and Mrs. Kramer have lived on their farm at the top of the hill outside of town on Highway 18. Here he has developed a fine herd of Jersey cattle, and was a director of the Northeast Iowa Jersey association. Mr. Kramer is survived by his widow and four brothers, Jacob and John, of McGregor, Fred of Charleston, S.D., and Louis of Los Angeles, Calif. Funeral services were held at the Congregational church Friday afternoon.
