DIAMOND, BARNHOUSE, TAYLOR, BIGS

Monona - Funeral services for John Diamond, aged 91 were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock from his home with burial in the city cemetery with Rev. George W. Turner officiating.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Diamond and was born on Feb. 10, 1848 at Pittsburgh, Penn. When he was nine years old the family came to McGregor and on Feb. 24, 1870 was married to Ellen Barnhouse at Prairie du Chien. They farmed until twenty-six years ago, when they moved to Monona, where Mrs. Diamond died six years ago.

Surviving Mr. Diamond are six children, Frank Diamond of Millersburg, Mo.; Wesley Diamond of Boone, Iowa; Mrs. S.E. Taylor of Beloit, Wis; and Mrs. William Bigs and Miss Mae Diamond of Monona. The latter lived with him and tenderly cared for him during his illness of six months duration. Five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren survive him.
