The lifeless body of William J. Stiehl, aged about 37 years, was found Monday noon by his wife in the barn at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. _. H. H. Stiehl at Garnavillo. The Coroner was notified and an inquest was held; the verdict of the Coroner's jury being death by hanging.
Mr. Stiehl was born at Garnavillo and grew to manhood there. He graduated as a dentist from the Chicago University and for a while practiced his profession in the state of Utah. Last spring Mr. Stiehl suffered a nervous breakdown and since then has not followed his profession. He was married to Miss Fay Luce of Provo, Utah.
He is survived by his wife, three children, four sisters, and one brother besides other relatives and many friends who mourn his early departure.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Stiehl home conducted by Rev. K. W. Braun. Garnavillo Lodge, No. 90, A.F. & A.M. conducted the services at the grave.
