Elkader Register, Thur., 25 Feb. 1904.

Robert Scharf arrived home from Glenwood, Ia., Saturday with the body of his son, who died at that place Wednesday, Feb. 17th, aged 12 years, 5 months and 22 days. He had been an inmate of the home for feeble minded children of that place for about four years. The funeral was held at the church here Sunday afternoon at half past two, conducted by Rev. Braun, burial in Farmersburg cemetery. The family have the sympathy of the community in this sad affliction.

The newspaper, or it's correspondent, apparently erred in the spelling of the surname Scherf.
