Jacob Englert was born near Scranton, Monroe County, Pa., April 20, 1834, and died at the home of his sister, Mrs. John Little, in Farmersburg, Nov. 7th, 1906, aged 72 years, 6 months and 17 days. He came to Clayton County in 1856, where he resided for two years, going to St. Paul and from here to the Pineries of Wisconsin, where he lived for twenty years. He then returned to Monona, where he resided until last July, when, on account of failing health, he came to make his home with his sister. The deceased was never married and is survived by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock in the M.E. church at Monona, conducted by Rev. H. Williams, burial in Monona cemetery.
