Katharina Maria Dorethea Schrader, nee Homan, was born Sept. 1, 1834, in Barstel, Hanover Province, Germany, died at her home in Wagner township, Wednesday, Oct. 17th, at 5 o'clock a.m. In 1864 she was married to August Frederick Wilhelm Schrader, emigrating to this country in 1865, settling at Garnavillo, where they resided until 1871, when they moved on the farm in Wagner twp., which has since been her home, her husband and one child preceded her to the grave. She leaves to mourn her death, three sons and four daughters, twenty eight grandchildren and one sister. Maria, eldest daughter, married to Chas. Johanningmeier; Louisa to Chas. Doerring; Anna to John Garms; and Wilhelmina to Fred Neverman. Funeral services were held in the Gooding church Friday Oct. 19, 1906, conducted by Rev. Paulson, of Luana, burial in the Wagner twp. cemetery.
