Farewell, mother, but not forever,
There shall be a glorious dawn.

Elkader Register, Thur., 9 Aug. 1906. Clayton column.

Mrs. Sarah Ousley, nee Bunston, was born Jan. 29, 1825, at Charde, Somersetshire, England, and died at her home near Clayton, Iowa, July 21st, 1906, at the ripe age of 81 years, 8 months and 22 days.

She was married to Isaac Ousley in 1845 at Charde in the church of England. In 1850 she, with two children, Jim and Mary Ann, followed her husband, who came two years before, meeting her at Sandusky, Ohio, where they lived several years.

They then moved to East Dubuque and in 18_9 (looks like 1859) they moved to Clayton just as they finished building the upper mill. In 18_8 (looks like 1868) they moved out on a farm and have been living there ever since.

She was the mother of six children, of which three are living, James, at Ardmore, Indian Territory; Dan, at Oshkosh, Wis.; and Frank, at home. Sarah Jane died in 1861 in infancy; George in 1870 at the age of seventeen; and Mary Ann in 187_ (looks like 1876 at the age of twenty-seven.

Mrs. Ousley was always a sufferer and in 1889 she fell and broke a limb, from which she never fully recovered, although she was not confined to her bed until the 4th of June, 1906.

Eleven years ago they celebrated their golden wedding and July _th (looks like 6th) this year she saw her 61st wedding day. She leaves to mourn her loss, her aged companion, three sons, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, also two brothers, George and Will Bunston, of Elma, Iowa. She was a good mother and kind neighbor and the esteem in which she was held was shown by the large concourse that followed her to her last resting place.
