Knodt, Carl 1829-1899

Died. At his residence in Grand Meadow township, on Monday morning, May 8th, 1899, Karl Knodt, aged 70 years and a few days.

Mr. Knodt was one of the early settlers of Grand Meadow township and was well known to all the older residents of this section. He leaves two daughters and three sons to mourn his death.

Mr. Knodt served in the Union army nearly three years, in the 27th Iowa regiment.

He came to Grand Meadow in 1866. He was married twice and had seven children.

Funeral at the Lutheran church on Wednesday. Interment in the Postville cemetery. The relatives have our sympathy.

The three sons of Mr. Knodt were out from South Dakota to attend the funeral.
