John Bond was born in Gloscestershire, England, April 11, 1837, and died July 6th, 1906. He was united in marriage to Hannah Walcraft in 1857, who preceded him in death about 28 years ago. To this union were born six daughters: Sarah A., who died in 1892; Mrs. Edward Hurd and Anna Bond, of Lake Benton, Minn.; Mrs. Geo. Burghart, of Clayton; Mrs. Ole Erickson, of North McGregor; and Martha Bond, of Mt. Kisco, New York. He is also survived by several brothers and sisters in England, and his brother David, of Lake Benton, Minn., besides leaving twenty grandchildren. The funeral sermon was preached in the Congregational church by Rev. Francis, of McGregor, after which the mortal remains were laid to rest in the old cemetery of Garnavillo. We extend sympathy to the sorrowing ones.
