Elkader Register, Thur., 14 June 1906. Local News column.

At her home in this township on Monday afternoon, June 11th, occurred the death of Mrs. William Muench. Mrs. Muench had been in failing health for several years but had not been more seriously ill until the past few days and her sudden passing away came as a shock to her friends. She was born in Bocun, Westphalia, Germany, on April 29th, 1843, and came to this country with her husband in 1882 and they have since made their home in this township. Eight children were born to them, of whom five are living, Bernard, Henry and William, of this township: Mrs. Heck, of Volga twp.; and Mrs. Otto Gusta, of Littleport, who with the bereaved husband, mourn the death of a kind and loving wife and mother. The funeral occurred yesterday morning with services at St. Joseph's Catholic church.
