Funeral services for O. C. Entwisle, 76, were held Monday morning, June 16, at 9:30 o'clock at St. Patrick's church at Monona with the Rev. Luke Donlon, pastor, officiating at the requiem mass. Rev. Donlon paid a special tribute to Mr. Entwisle for his character, loyalty, and citizenship. Burial was in St. Patrick's cemetery.
Mr. Entwisle had been in ill health for four years and died at his home Friday evening, June 13.
He was born near Volney, Iowa, December 5, 1871, the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Entwisle. He received his education in the rural schools and when 20 years old left the farm and went to McGregor to learn the barber trade of H. Kossack. He remained there a year and then in November, 1893, came to Monona where he was in the barber business for 52 years.
He was married June 21, 1899 to Mamie S. Kean at St. Patrick's parsonage by the Rev. M. J. Hogan.
Mr. Entwisle had been a member of the Monona band and had served as president of the Master Barber's Association of Clayton county.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by four children: Claire, Winnebago, Minn.; Paul, Storm Lake, Iowa; Mrs. Irving Mast, Napa, Calif.; Mrs. Cyril Keenan, Milwaukee, Wis.; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Bratsburg and Miss Irene Entwisle of Monona; one brother, V. A. Entwisle, Adrian, Minn., and six grandchildren.
Pall bearers were: E. G. Kaiser, H. S. Rittenhouse, George Balekos, Joe Geraghty, Mike Grady and Gilbert Rose.
