Mrs. Mary Doody died at her home in Monona, of paralysis, at the age of 83 years. Deceased was born in Carney Cary County, Ireland. In 1856 she came with her husband to this country, locating in Brooklyn, where they resided for five years, on account of ill health they returned to Ireland, where her husband died. In November, 1897, she, with her two grandchildren came to Monona, where she has since made her home with a sister. She leaves to mourn her loss, one son, Wm. Doody, of Monona; four grandchildren, two of whom she had cared for from childhood, Mike and Patsy Hannon, also Wilie and Mamie Doody; two brothers and two sisters, Patrick Doody, of Beulah, Mrs. Ellen Donahue, of Monona, and one brother and sister in Ireland. She was a good mother and grandmother and will not only be missed at home but in the neighborhood and among the children she greatly loved. Rev. Father Hogan conducted the funeral services which ought long to be remembered. She was laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery.
