Lightning Kills Monona Doctor
Richard Collins, aged 44 years, was killed late Sunday afternoon when he was struck by lightning. After having completed some veterinary work on the Richard Stanton farm near Waterville*, Collins, Mr. Stanton and son were visiting for a while when the bolt struck.Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Hattie O'Leary Collins, two daughters, Kathleen and Donna Mae Collins and one son, Thomas Collins, all at home; his aged mother, Mrs. Laura Collins, and four sisters.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at ten o'clock. The sympathy of the community is extended the family

Monona, Ia - Funeral services for Richard Collins, 44, who died Sunday afternoon after being struck by lightning, were held Wednesday morning from a local funeral home. Burial was made in St. Patrick's Catholic cemetery. The Rev. Luke Donlon officiated.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Hattie O'Leary Collins, two daughters, Kathleen and Donna Mae and one son, Thomas Collins, all at home; his aged mother, Mrs. Laura Collins and four sisters.
