Dubuque Daily Herald, November 9, 1893

John J. Dunn, aged 38 years, died Tuesday night, having suffered seven months with cancer of the stomach, being confined to bed for more than half of that period. Deceased was born in Lancaster, Pa. but moved to Cox Creek, Clayton County with his parents. When he took sick he came to Dubuque to take treatment at Mercy Hospital, but later on his mother and sister came to the city, and started to housekeeping on White Street where he was given every attention love could devise or his illness demand. The deceased was a traveling man for a cigar company
