Mrs. Mary Tapper Boyce passed away Tuesday morning at the home of her sister, Mrs. Hester Egbert, after a long illness. She was the first white child born at Ft. Atkinson, Ia. She had reached the age of 89 years and had lived all these years in this section of the state.
She leaves to mourn, two sisters and one brother, besides many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the M.E. Church with Rev. L. Joslin officiating.

D.S. Tapper of Cedar Rapids was here the past week to attend the funeral of his sister, Mrs. Mary Boyce. [contributor note: 2nd initial may be E. rather than S.]

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Egbert of Le Mars, Ia., came to attend the funeral of Mr. Egbert's aunt, Mrs. Mary Boyce.
