Millville - Isaac Ray, a veteran of the Civil War of the 21st Iowa regiment, Co. G., passed away at his home in Plentywood, Montana, March 16th. He was 89 years, 11 months and 16 days old. He was born in Clayton county, Millville township, Ia., on March 25th, 1844.
He enlisted as a volunteer at Elkader Iowa in April 1862 and was mustered into service as Dubuque, Iowa. He served three years and faught (sic) in many battles.
He was a resident of Clayton county, Iowa for 71 years and of Sheridan county, Montana for 18 years.
He is survived by one brother, David of Clayton, one step-daughter and many nephews and nieces of different localities. At the time of his death he resided with a nephew, Lewis Pierce, whom they raised from infancy. His wife, Lucy E. Ray, preceded him in death, March 26th, 1933.
He was united in marriage to Lucy E. Pierce in October, 1892. They made their home in Graham, Iowa for many years, then they moved to Plentywood, Montana.
