Larry Edward Schroeder, 71, of Monona, Iowa died Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at his home in Monona, Iowa. Larry was born on May 1, 1944 to Harold and Florence (Hamann) Schroeder in rural Monona, Iowa. He attended Luana School in Luana, Iowa.

Larry was united in marriage with Anna Gunderson on May 27, 1967 at the Methodist Church in Monona, Iowa. Four children were born to this union. Larry was a lifelong farmer. He collected Minneapolis Tractors and enjoyed deer and coon hunting. When Larry was younger he spent time hunting fox. He especially loved spending time with his family.

Larry is survived by his wife, Anna Schroeder of Monona; his four children, Ethan (Amy) Schroeder of Monona, Jared (Nicole) Schroeder of Tracy, April (John) Goode of Des Moines and Bettina (Jim) Hewitt of Ankeny; nine grandchildren, Chanc, Cortney, Blaine, Parker, Brinlee, Trevor, Jacob, Emma and Kolton; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry (Mary) Schroeder of Luana; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Dean Gunderson and Bob (Connie) Gunderson, both of Monona; sister-in-law, Sue White (Craig Jensen) of Elgin; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Florence Schroeder; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emmet and Ruth Gunderson; and a nephew, Layne Schneider.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 3, 2016 from 1-5 pm at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Monona, Iowa and one hour before services at the church on Monday.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am on Monday, January 4, 2016 at St. John Lutheran Church, Luana, Iowa with Rev. Harold McMillin as the Officiant.

Burial will follow at Monona Cemetery, Monona, Iowa with Military Rites.
