Miss Ella Palmer died at the residence of her father in this township, on Monday evening, of consumption, after a short sickness.

Deceased was born at Elkader in June, 1865, and consequently was nearly 25 years of age. She attended school at this place, and since completing her education has been teaching in the district schools of the county, continuing in that work until about three weeks ago, when she was obliged to give up her school in the Cain district.

She was a very pleasant, agreeable young lady, who had a large circle of friends all of who greatly mourn her death.

The funeral took place yesterday morning at 10 o’clock a.m., her remains being laid to their final rest in the Eastside cemetery beside those of the three sisters and mother who had gone before to the home beyond the grave. Services were conducted by Rev. G.N. Keniston, of the M.E. Church.

Elkader Register: May 29, 1890
