Elkader Register, Fri., 1 Sept. 1882.

Died- At the home of her parents, in Cox Creek township, August 2_th (Looks like 25 or 26), 1882, Esther M., daughter of John and Susie Alderson, aged 18 months and 10 days.

Little Esther was sick but six hours when death claimed her for its own. She was a bright and intelligent child, and dearly beloved by all. She was the only child, and great is the load of sorrow her loving parents carry in their hearts. The bereaved parents have the sympathy of all in their deep affliction. The funeral occurred on Sunday last.

Little Esther, thou hath left us,
And thy loss we deeply feel.
But 'tis God who hath bereft us,
He can all our sorrows heal.
