Elkader Register, Fri., 30 June 1882.

On Monday last Mrs. Fredericka Dorweger, of Highland township, near Volga City, ended her life and troubles in this vale of tears by hanging herself. From the information at hand we learn that her husband went to Volga City in the morning, and during his absence she went to the window, and securing a small cord about her neck, leaned forward, and deliberately choked herself to death.

This was the second attempt she has made to take her own life, having been discovered once before by her husband, and cut down. For a number of years she has been a sufferer from some incurable disease which prevented her from doing any work, and becoming despondent, took the rope route for the world where care is unknown.
