Elkader Register, Fri., 29 Dec. 1882.

While coupling cars in the North McGregor yards of the C.M. & St. P. R'y., last Thursday evening, a young man named Timothy O'Brien, was fatally injured. He slipped and fell across the track, the train running over him, and cutting off both legs near the hips. He lingered in great agony for seven hours, when death came to his relief. He was an unmarried man, and had been in the employ of the company but a short time.
