Her passing was noted by two different correspondents to the newspaper and appearing on two different newspaper dates.

1880 census Elk township, clayton Co., Iowa:

Mena Plagmann, 41, born Germany
Henry Plagmann, 11, born Iowa
Anna Plagmann, 9, born Iowa
William Plagmann, 7, born Iowa
Emma Plagmann, 5, born Iowa

--
Mr Plagman has remarried, as shown on the 1885 Iowa state census:

Christian Plagrman, 50, born Germany

The two newspaper accounts are confusing regarding dates and names, but this is the only Plagman/Plagmann family shown on the census for the newspaper reports given localities
