Miss Lena M. Beckler died near North Buena Vista, Iowa, on Friday morning, March 31st, 1882, in the twenty-second year of her age. The disease (consumption) confined her to a bed of severe suffering for eight months. Always reticent concerning herself and her own feelings, she said little of them on her sick bed; though to the loving friends who surrounded her, occasional expressions showed where her trust was placed. She had much to bind her to earth; a loving mother, two affectionate sisters; two kind, loving brothers; but when her Master's will was known, she gave them up without a murmur, and those who knew her best, most fully realized how blest to her was the change when she crossed the river to join her father, who had gone before and await the loved ones left.
