Died- On Friday, February 24th, 1882, of paralysis, Mrs. Richard Hanna, in the 24th year of her age. Mrs. Hanna was sick but a short time, and her death was a surprise and a shock to her many friends. She leaves a daughter four years old, and a husband to mourn the loss of a loving mother, and a kind and true companion. The funeral occurred on Sunday and was largely attended by friends and relatives. Services were held at the house by Rev. McIntyre, after which her remains were laid away to the final rest in the East Side cemetery.

Added by S. Ferrall 6/30/2016 - this may be Virgina Hanna, w/o Dixi/Dixie Hanna. His name may have been a nickname for Richard / Dick. The couple is on the 1880 U.S. census in the city of Elkader with a 2 y/o daughter. Researchers having confirmation of her name, or other comments, please reply to this obituary posting.
