Elkader Register, Fri., 1 Apr. 1881.
DIED- Schmidt- On Saturday, March 2_th, 1881, Herman Henry, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. _. (looks like B, P or R) Schmidt, of Elkader, aged 7 months and 21 days.
The funeral of little Herman took place on Monday last, Rev. Seifert officiating. The remains were taken to the cemetery on the east side for burial, and were followed to their final resting place by a large number of sympathizing friends of the family. Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt have the sympathy of all our citizens in their sad affliction, and especially so when it is known that little Herman Henry is the seventh child that they have been called to part with.
