Elkader Register, Fri., 18 Mar. 1881.

Died- On the 14th inst., Mrs. Jacob Brinkhaus, of Mederville, aged 27 years.

Mrs. Brinkhaus was a sister of Martin Dittmer and Mrs Jacob Stemmer, of this place. It was about a year ago that she was married to Mr. Brinkhaus, and now after a short period of domestic happiness and bliss, she has been called "home" by the Father of all. By her death she leaves a sorrowing husband and an infant child, who have the profound sympathy of all.

Elkader Register, Fri., 25 Mar. 1881.

The funeral of Mrs. Jacob Brinkhaus, on the 16th inst., was largely attended, between 50 and 60 teams being in line. The sermon was preached by Rev. Mr. Barco, who took for his text, Isaiah 57 chap., 1-2 versus. The sermon was very able and touching.

Notes: Gravestone in the Mederville cemetery has surname spelled Brinkhouse and engraved is her age at death: Aged 28 Jahre, 10 Monate, 14 Tage
Per census records, was wife of Jacob.
