Elkader Register, Fri., 15 Sept. 1882.

Henry Clay Oathout, a brother of County Superintendent Oathout, died at the home of his father in Luana on Saturday, the 9th inst., at the age of 38 years. For the past three years the deceased has been a sufferer from a disease of the spine, and has steadily declined, until his death. He leaves a wife and two children, a boy and girl. The funeral occurred on the 10th, at Luana.
