Nicols, William 'Uncle Billy' died 1891

Mr. Nicols, of Elk Creek, died last Tuesday, after some weeks of intense suffering. Another passed to the world beyond. (Elkport Column)

Died at the home of his son, Wm. Nicol, aged 78 years, Uncle Billy, as everyone called him, was a great sufferer, having been confined to his bed for about 7 years. (Wood column)

Note: he may be buried in the Elk Valley cemetery, but this has not been confirmed
