Monona- Donald John Schlitter, 83, of Monona, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, in Palmer Lutheran Health Center, West Union, following a short illness. Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Garden City United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Dennis Gilbert. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Leonard Funeral Home, Monona, and one hour before services Friday at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline; a daughter, Karen Steege of Manitowoc, Wis.; three sisters, Marie Mount of Waukon, and Ethel Strelow and Helen Mielke, both of Monona; and a brother, Elmer of Farmersburg.

Also surviving is his son-in-law, Kenneth Steege.
