Gilligan, David died 1871

GILLIGAN, PUTZ

Posted By: Audrey Haught, volunteer

On Christmas Day while several men were engaged in shoveling snow on the Elkport road near Mr. Whalen’s place, they came upon a frozen body of a man who proved to be David Gilligen, who lived in that neighborhood. He was the father-in-law of Mr. Joseph Putz, of Elkport, and leaves a wife and four children to mourn his untimely death. We are indebted for the particulars to Dr. Hanna.
