McGregor- Arthur Hinsch, 74, of McGregor was fatally injured in a car-truck collision Monday afternoon near Galena, Ill.
With his wife, he was headed for Clinton, Ia., where they were to visit their son, Bill. Their car collided with a semi-truck about 2 p.m. Both Mr. and Mrs. Hinsch were taken to Farley (Finley) Hospital in Dubuque, where the husband died at 3 p.m.
Mrs. Hinsch, who suffered multiple cuts and bruises, was reported in fair condition Monday evening.
Surviving besides the son, is a daughter, Mrs. Oliver Trygg of Ames, Ia., and a brother, Charles H. Hinsch.
Mr. Hinsch, who formerly owned the McGregor Hardware Company, was a subscription representative for the Des Moines Register. He also formerly owned a golf course which he converted into a farm.
