EVANS, OWEN, CASSADY, SCHROEDER

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday at Monona, Iowa by the Rev. H.W. Farnham, pastor of the Methodist Church for Willis Seymore Evans, age 73. A son of Simeon Seymore and Thankful Evans, he was born on February 4, 1866 in Juneau, Wisconsin. His parents moved to Hardin, Iowa in 1876 where he spent the early part of his life. On November 23, 1893 he was married to Grace W. Cassady. For a few years they lived at Hardin, then moved to Monona. In 1914 the family moved to Ladysmith, Wisconsin where they resided until 1927 when they returned to Monona. He is survived by his wife and four children, Wilbert Evans of Clinton, Iowa, George Evans of St. Paul, Minnesota, Harold Evans of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, and Florence, Mrs. Henry Schroeder of Monona.

NOTE OF THE TRANSCRIBER: Willis was a twin. His brother was named Willie Henry Evans and he died in Juneau, Wisconsin on November 10, 1874. The maiden name of Thankful Evans was Owen.
