Dorothea Maria Frieda Honn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schroeder, was born Sept. 2, 1872 in Grand Meadow township, Clayton county. She was confirmed and received into Communicant membership of the Evangelical Lutheran church at Postville on March 28, 1885. She was united in marriage to Henry C. Honn on the 19th of June, 1891. This union was blessed with three sons and eight daughters. The twin daughters preceded their mother in infancy.

Mrs. Honn has been a communicant member of the Lutheran church and a willing worker of Ladies Aid Society since the year 1915. Her last illness set in Sept. 1927. She was called to her reward on Dec. 24 at the age of 56 years, 1 months and 22 days. She is survived by her bereaved husband, Henry Honn, three sons, Arthur of Colesburg, and Roy and Harvey at Home, six daughters, Mabel of Manchester, Mrs. Ross Thornton of Luana, Emma, Ethel, Eda and Laura at home, and five grandchildren, one brother and six sisters.
